Activities & Fine Arts

Princeton Middle School offers a variety of Activities to enrich the middle school experience. Click below to learn about the different opportunities available to students.

For Athletics or Fine Arts that meet or practice at the High School, there is a one-way transfer bus for students to ride to the high school each day. Parent pick-up at the HS.
Coaches and Advisors for all activities will communicate to the students the parent pick up expectations.

What is Competitive Speech?

Students choose or write a speech and perform it in front of a small group of peers.

Important Information:

Register
1. Please make sure to register for the Speech Team on the Middle School Activities form. https://princetonhigh-ar.rschooltoday.com/
  1. Payment must be done online.
  2. Please contact the middle school office (Mindy Matthewman) if your family is in need of an activity fee scholarship.
  3. Payment is due by the first competition
Season Calendar
Students need to practice their speech individually multiple times a week on their own
Absences
1. If your child is sick or knows ahead of time they will be gone for their scheduled practice, please let Ms. Totzke know ASAP.
  1. Ms. Totzke will do her best to work with that student to reschedule their practice time slot, but that is dependent on notice ahead of time.
Speech Topics
1. The speech needs to be between 3-8 minutes long.
2. Can choose from 13 different topics
  1. Speech material can be found on their own or borrowed from the school
  2. Speeches can also be purchased. Students need to forward the link of the speech to Ms. Totzke to purchase it.
    1. Drama Play Scripts | HI and DI Interp., Duets, Improvisation
3. Students will sign up for their intended category on the Google Spreadsheet.
Academic Standing
1. Speech team members must be in good academic standing to participate.
2. If a teacher or activities director tells Ms. Totzke that they are not in good standing, the school’s academic protocol will be implemented.
