Advertise your open jobs for students ages 14-18 on the PHS Job Opportunities board.

Complete a simple form to have your business/industry featured on the district website as we build a Princeton Career Catalog.

Talk about your industry and business on a workforce panel for high school or middle school students exploring career opportunities.

High School students are able to participate in simulated job interviews that are conducted by local business partners in fields related to the students’ interests. The “interviewer” then offers feedback about the student’s interview and answers questions the student may have about the field.

Interview high school juniors during PHS Mock Interview Week to provide students with interview practice.  You can choose the number of hours and days you participate.
 

Take part in this Chamber event where you’ll meet with high school students to give them practice in talking with business professionals.

Spend time with students and/or teachers either on site at your business or at the school teaching about your industry and providing tours.

Elementary, middle and high school teachers bring a variety of community speakers into the schools. They talk about their careers, and also about how academics are applied in the “real world”. Sign up to host students at your business during Career Shadow Week(s).

Submit a video of your business’ career opportunities and industry information to be shared with students through existing PHS programming and curriculum.

This is the work we are currently doing to build capacity in our community. The focus of the Learning and Living Committee is to develop real world experiential learning for the students of Princeton Public Schools through mentorship, internship, and service learning experiences.

The Career Crawl is an event that brings groups of teachers out into local businesses to experience firsthand the types of jobs that are involved in that business and the educational foundation that is necessary for success.

The Princeton Public Schools focus on Career and College Readiness is to prepare 21st century students to be career and college ready. The focus for Career Crawl staff development experience is to tour businesses and learn what skills employers are looking for as our students enter the workforce. These are skills that can be incorporated into standards at every grade.

Students are taken out of the classroom setting to experience different educational experiences within the community.

Students have the opportunity to coordinate their high school classes with a job in a field related to their academic and occupational objectives. They receive school credit for both classroom and work experience.
