All students in 3rd-12th Grade were sent home with their School-Issued Chromebook to allow students access educational resources and connect with their teachers from home. This section will contains information on Chromebook Care, troubleshooting and expectations.
Cases stay on Chromebooks at all times and need to remain free of writing, stickers, labels or other damage. Cases are not covered under the district optional protection plan and are a $50 replacement fee.
Devices should be used away from liquids and food.
Devices should remain clear of writing, drawing, stickers and labels.
All repairs are to be done by the district. If your Chromebook is not working or becomes damaged, fill out the form below to set up an appointment to have the Chromebook repaired.
Each district building has Wifi that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Wifi in every building extends into our parking lot, please see the maps below for parking locations where you can access the Princeton Public Wifi.
We have a very limited amount of hotspots to check out to families who have no or limited internet service. Hotspots work by using data from cell phone towers, so they are not a solution for all households in the Princeton School district. At this time, hotspots are being prioritized to the families with no internet service. The form to request a hotspot is located below. If the district is not able to check out a hotspot to your family, you will be placed on a waiting list.
Please note that hotspots can be purchased at any mobile device retailer or big box electronics store. A hotspot will provide you with internet service if you live in an area that can get reasonable access to cellular service. If you have a cellular phone, it also has hotspot capabilities, contact your cell phone provider to find out how much data you have available to use as a hotspot and how to connect to your hotspot.
Princeton Public Library
Students may schedule a "browsing appointment" and use the Library wifi for up to one hour on their school device. Students under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. The library's Wifi is kept on 24/7 and does extend out of the building. You can access the Wifi by sitting in the parking lot.
Browsing Appointments will be available:
Monday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
During our extended distance learning days, you may be invited to join a live session with your teacher using Google Meet, Zoom, or Schoology Conferences. All online interaction is an extension of the physical classroom, and expectations of your behavior online is the same as what we would expect in the classroom. If at home, all video connections must be placed from a "common" area of your home.
School rules still apply, follow honor code and Tiger Pride expectations during every meeting.
The online environment is for learning.
School technology expectations apply.
No photos, screenshots, or video may be taken of your teacher(s) or classmates.
Use "raise" hand or use chat if you have a question or school appropriate comment.
Comments or chats need to be school appropriate and content specific.
Everything visible in your camera needs to be school appropriate including hats, clothing and anything in the background.
You should try to be the only person in the camera.
When joining a session, after you join the meeting, you should have your microphone muted.
If you would like to speak, we ask that you use the built in chat messaging to request to unmute. This will assist your teacher in facilitating the session, and give you and your fellow students the best learning experience possible.
If you would prefer to join only by audio, you can place tape on your Webcam, or choose not to activate your camera when you join the meeting. You may also join via telephone if you do not have adequate Internet access.
During our extended distance learning days, your child's teacher may offer "live" Webinar sessions using Google Meet, Zoom or Schoology Conferences. This will be a chance for your child to connect with the teacher, ask questions and see classmates. We see this as a valuable tool to allow your child and teacher the ability to maintain their relationship and enhance learning.
The sessions may be recorded by the teacher and posted to Google Classroom or Schoology, so that if a student in the class is unable to attend the session, they could view it at a later time.
If you do not want your child's image to be displayed during these sessions, your child can either:
Place tape on their Webcam
Turn off the Webcam when joining the session
Join using the provided phone number.
Please have students connect from a "common" area of your home and not a private space such as a bedroom.
