Our Safe Return to In-Person Learning Plan

The safety of our staff, volunteers, children, families and our communities is our top priority and therefore we want to communicate our plans to mitigate the pandemic as we return to school. Some of the protocols put in place will continue this school year:

Daily Wellness Self-Screening: Every child, visitor, or employee is expected to self-monitor for new symptoms of COVID-19 each day before arriving onsite. Please stay home if you are exhibiting any symptoms.

Face coverings: The District supports the current recommendations from MDH/MDE regarding face coverings protocols for children, staff, and visitors. All children, employees, and visitors who are not vaccinated are encouraged but not required to wear face coverings in district buildings.

Students and adults who ride the bus will need to wear a mask while riding due to federal orders.  Please contact your site coordinator with any questions.

COVID Vaccines will not be required, but are recommended by the CDC for all individuals age 12 and older.

Contact Tracing: When the district is informed of a positive case in our schools, we will contract trace individuals deemed as close contacts. District will notify families and communicate quarantine recommendations from the Department of Health and the CDC. The district will not require families to quarantine unless a positive case has been confirmed.

Social distancing: It is recommended that children and adults maintain a minimum of 3 to 6 feet between themselves and other people. Princeton Public Schools will social distance to the extent possible, but cannot guarantee 3 to 6 feet of distance at all times.

Following Health and Safety Guidelines: Our health and safety plan will be updated as needed and follows the standards from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

We will continue to be mindful of the global health crisis. We will continue to follow our Playbook of mitigation strategies. We will be monitoring the situation daily with our public health partners, and if we have more positive cases in our community, we will need to be ready to pivot. If adding more restrictions means keeping our kids in school, that's what we will do. If you haven't already done so, please sign up for text messaging in Skyward so we can quickly communicate if needed.
