Patrick Devine Selected as Next Superintendent

At the public meeting on April 23, 2025, the Princeton School Board interviewed three outstanding finalists for the position of Superintendent of Schools. After thoughtful deliberation, the board unanimously selected Patrick Devine as the preferred candidate. The board has now entered into contract negotiations with Mr. Devine and plans to confirm his appointment at the May 6, 2025, School Board meeting. He will officially begin his role as Superintendent on July 1, 2025.

The Princeton School Board extends its sincere gratitude to all the candidates for their time, effort, and dedication throughout the selection process.

“This wasn’t a simple decision. All the candidates were impressive, and all three finalists are deeply committed to serving students," said School Board Chair Deb Ulm. "Ultimately, we felt that Mr. Devine brings a strong blend of experience and leadership that will dovetail nicely with the work outgoing Superintendent Ben Barton has led. We’re excited for what lies ahead and grateful to everyone who contributed to this process."

Mr. Devine brings a wealth of educational leadership experience to Princeton Public Schools, with a career that spans classroom teaching, building leadership, and district-level administration. His background includes serving as Director of K-12 Online School for SWMetro ISD 288 and Superintendent of Schools for Waconia ISD 110. He also held leadership roles in Litchfield ISD 465 as Assistant Superintendent, Middle School Principal, and High School Principal.

Mr. Devine shared the following message with the community:

"I am honored and very excited to join Princeton Public Schools as the next Superintendent. ISD 477 and the Princeton community have so many great things to be proud of, and I am so impressed with the wonderful care and extraordinary commitment you have for the students you serve. I look forward to meeting and working with the students, staff, parents, community, and school board to continue the great work at Princeton Public Schools. Go Tigers!"
