Tips from the Counselors
1. Prioritize your Mental Health - Mental Health is just as important as Physical Health. Make both a priority!
2. Develop Healthy Habits - Get a good night's sleep, eat healthy, drink water, exercise regularly. These healthy habits increase overall health and wellbeing.
3. Find your Support System - No one should have to go through tough times alone. Your counselors are always open to talk if needed, but it can be just as helpful to build your own support network, in school and out of school.
4. Practice Positive Self-Talk - Be kind to yourself. If you wouldn't want someone else talking to you in a certain way, don't be talking to yourself that way.
5. Develop Healthy Coping Skills - When feeling overwhelmed, try practicing healthy coping skills. Some examples include journaling, coloring, meditation, drinking water, and talking to a friend.
6. Seek Professional Help if Needed - If you are feeling consistent sadness, anger, anxiety, etc., talk to a doctor or therapist. Check in regularly with your doctor to ensure you are maintaining your health.
