We want to share an update on our expectations for our Flexible Learning Days - those days when we can’t hold school in person, which is typically weather related.  Each teacher has a list of activities for students to choose from and complete.  We don’t expect students to work for 5 or 6 hours, but the activities can be done independently and we expect students to make a good faith effort to complete some work.  Students will be asked to show what they did during that Flexible Learning Day within a week of the day.  Teachers will mark students present if they have made an effort during that day, absent if they have not.  Please reach out if you have any questions about how this works.

The Princeton PTO is sponsoring a Read-A-Thon.  Students were able to select a book last Friday.  This fundraiser ends this Sunday, January 23rd.  I hope your child was able to participate and get a lot of reading in.  Sponsor sheets and donations are due back by January 27th, 2023.

Interested in Volunteering at the Intermediate School?  Please fill out this short Google Form if you are interested.

Take care,

As a principal, I have the opportunity to work through conflicts between students on a daily basis.  Students at this age are learning how to deal with emotions and situations involving conflicts with others.  One of the biggest challenges for our students is responding positively when someone is not kind to you.  Many times a student will say something mean back or become physical with the other student.  We continue to encourage students to tell the other person to stop and report it if the behavior continues.  That way I can work with the other student for their poor choice rather than needing to speak with two students who made less than positive choices.

We are looking for volunteers for our Book Fair, which is April 30, May 1, May 2, May 3.  Use this form to sign up for a time to help - Intermediate Book Fair- volunteer sign-up.

Is it bullying?  We field many reports of situations that have been called bullying.  In most cases they don’t fit the definition of bullying.  While we still want to be aware of these situations and deal with them, we also want to give a clear definition of what bullying is.
