Why?

• Due to bus capacity, student movement, and staffing, Palmer Bus re-routes buses every summer.
• In order to ensure your student has a bus schedule on the first day of school, you must submit your form now. 
• Routing is completed throughout the summer; we cannot guarantee busing during the first week of school if a bus form isn’t filled out by August 1.

• Q: What if I’m not sure my child will need busing?

  A: Fill out the alternate address section of the bus form.
• Q: When will I know my child’s bus route? 
  A: Bus schedules will be posted in Family Access prior to open house, on or around August 18.
• Q: My student has special transportation with an IEP. Do I need to fill out a form?  A: No, special transportation requests are completed by your case manager. Please contact your case manager with questions.

During weather closures, delays, and bus notification, timely messaging is essential. We want to make sure you’re getting important school updates quickly, and text messaging is proving to be more reliable for many families. Please be sure to update your SMS text contact info in Skyward so you don’t miss notifications about school closures, events, and more.

1. Log into Skyward Family Access.
2. Select Skylert on the left column.
3. Update the Phone Number, Email Address or Text Message Numbers field and click Save in the upper right-hand corner.

• In order to insure your student has busing the first day of school, you must submit your form now. We cannot guarantee busing during the first week of school if a bus form isn’t filled out early.

• Click on Online Forms, then ‘fill out form’
• Fill out the form then click submit. View this video for help.
• New this year—if you have no address changes you can indicate that on step 1 and skip to the end!

Princeton Public Schools is excited to announce a familiar leader will move into the Princeton Middle School Principal role next year. Sarah Marxhausen, currently serving as the Primary School Principal, will move to the Middle School. She will replace Charlie Bakker, who will be moving to Annandale as high school principal next year. 

“Sarah started her career as a middle school teacher, and she has proven herself as an exemplary principal in Princeton,” said Superintendent Ben Barton. “She cares deeply about Princeton students, staff and families. Perhaps the best thing Sarah will bring to the middle school is her strong relationships with families and staff. Having served as Primary School Principal since 2018, she’s known most of our students and their families since Kindergarten. She is trusted, and families know that she loves their kids.”

“Middle school is such a fun and important phase in adolescent development,” Mrs. Marxhausen said. “They have such a great sense of humor and are developing an awareness of self and personal identity. I look forward to helping support them as they continue to discover what is important to them. I started my career in middle school, and I am very excited to return. I will miss the current Tiger Cubs and Primary School staff, while I am confident that they have provided our children with a strong foundation for learning! I will get to see the growth in all those children I welcomed into Kindergarten years ago.”

Marxhausen started her teaching career in Milaca, where she gained experience as a middle school teacher, coach, advisor, and mentor. She is also a state-level trainer for the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, or PBIS program, the foundation for Tiger Pride in Princeton. She joined Princeton Public Schools in 2009 as the Middle School Assistant Principal & Activities Director and served in that role until 2017, when she moved to the District Office for one year as Human Resources Director before taking the leadership role at the Primary School in 2018.

Marxhausen earned a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science Education from South Dakota State University and a master's degree from St. Mary’s University. She is a licensed K-12 school administrator and is currently pursuing her superintendent’s license through St. Cloud State University.
