Dear Parents/Guardians,

May 4-8 is Teacher Appreciation Week. This is a great time to show appreciation to the individuals that support our students each day.  A note, card, or other show of gratitude is a nice gesture to show your appreciation. In addition, we celebrate our kitchen staff on May 1 for School Lunch Hero Day and May 6 is Nurses Day.

The month of May is also a time to reflect on all of the great things that were accomplished this year.  In addition to making academic improvements, our students learned about different character traits. The month of May will focus on the trait of respect. Respect is valuing others, including their ideas, feelings, and property. It is so fun to celebrate our Tiger Troopers each month.

We are still working hard to raise money for our Inclusive Playground. Thank you to everyone that donated shoes. We collected 2,779 pairs of shoes, with the Primary School collecting the most. The next Inclusive Playground event is the Walk, Run, Roll 5K on May 16, 2026 at the Primary School. Sign in begins at 9:15 with a 10:00 start time. Register at princetoninclusiveplayground.org

The summer months are an important time for families and friends to make memories and recharge for another school year.  We recognize and support this needed time.  I hope you are able to make lifelong memories this summer.

Something that we can all do any time that supports student learning while spending time together is reading!  Reading books is a great way to continue to learn.  One of the most important things that will determine how well your child does in school is his or her ability to read.  Reading takes practice, and the more practice kids get, the more confident they will be and the better they will become.  Please consider making reading (and writing) a part of your child’s summer routine.  There are many fun ways to incorporate reading.

Have a great summer and enjoy your time with friends and family.

Sincerely,

Shannon Bruskiewicz
